Subscript shrinks highlighted text and aligns it with the bottom of standard text (circled area of text below).

To subscript text:

1. Highlight the text you want format to subscript.
2. Click the 'Format' option from the menu bar at the top of the editor window. A drop-down menu will appear.
3. Select 'SUBSCRIPT'.
