Anchors

An anchor is an invisible link placed at a specific point in a document. Upon selecting the anchor, the user will be taken to another location within your website.

To create an anchor:

  1. Place cursor above the text that you want anchored.
  2. Click the 'Insert' option from the menu bar at the top of the editor window. A drop-down menu will appear.
  3. Click 'ANCHOR..' to open 'INSERT ANCHOR' dialogue window. Enter a unique name for the anchor.

To link to an anchor in the same document:

  1. Highlight the text that you want the anchor link attached to.
  2. Click the 'Insert' option from the menu bar at the top of the editor window. A drop-down menu will appear.
  3. Click 'LINK..' to open 'INSERT LINK' dialog window. Alternatively, click the link icon on the top left toolbar.
  4. Enter '#' and the anchor name in the 'URL' text field (e.g. #name).
  5. 'OK' to save changes.

To link to an anchor in a different document:

  1. Highlight the text that you want the anchor link attached to (you should be in a document that doesn't contain the anchor in it).
  2. Select the 'Insert' option from the menu bar at the top of the editor window. A drop down menu will appear.
  3. Select 'LINK..' to open 'INSERT LINK' dialog window. Alternatively, select link icon on the top left toolbar.
  4. Under the 'Document' drop down menu select the document that contains the anchor.
  5. Add '#' and the anchor name to the end of the document title that appears in the 'URL' text field (e.g. /Site/Default.aspx#name).
  6. Select 'OK' to save changes.

To preview all changes made click and to permanently save changes made click Save
